Poetry: a literature way to express your feelings through words.
Example: You can use your anger through poetry.
Explanation: Poetry is important because everyone deserves to express their feelings through anyway and in poetry you can.

Meter

Meter: basics rhythms of varying stressed and unstressed.
Example: stressed ( / )    unstresed ( x )
Explanation: meter is important because its in everday speech.

Rhyme

Rhyme: occurs in the last syllables of the verses
Example: Rap is  type of rhyming.
Explanation: rhyme is important because it doesn't make poetry sound like a story.

Rhythm

Rhythm: is a pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables in a line.
Example: You make like the rhythm to a specific song.
Explanation: Rhythm is important because in poems is about the beat and having a kind of flow to it.

Onomatopoeia

Onomatopoeia: words that immitate a word or sound.
Example: BANG! POW! BOOM!
Explatation: Onomatopoeia is important because you can hear the sounds of whats written.

Personification

Personification: giving non human things person features.
Example: Cars the movie is all personification.
Explanation: Personification is important by understanding of the character's features.

Imagery

Imagery: something you can visualize through words or using your five senses.
Example: Her skin was as soft as a baby's bottom. This is a perfect example of tactile imagery.
Eplantation: Imagery is important because it connects to the poem through the readers senses and visulization.

Simile

Simile: compares two unlike things using like or as.
Example: He sleeps like a log.
Explanation: Simile is importnat because you always compare things in life

Repetition

Repetition: to repeat something to understand
Example: You use repetition if you don't listen the first time.
Explanation: Repetition is important because it can show you how to understand anything.

Tone

Tone: The speakers emotions in words that comes from the poem.
Example: Without tone there is no feeling in poetry.
Explanation: Tone is important because we find out what the feelings are and also the theme.

Interpretation

Interpretation: Your own type of meaning to the word
Example: You have interpretation when you see things.
Explanation: Interpretation is important because it gives us our own ways of seeing things.

Metaphor , Extended Metaphor

Metaphor: is a a type of speech that compares.
Example: Metaphor compares things without using "like" or "as".
Explanation: metaphor is important because it makes it easier to compare two things.

Extended Metaphor: it's a metaphor that continues on with the sentence.
Example: You use extended metaphor everywhere you go.
Explanation: Extended metaphor is important because it's useful in life.

Speaker

Speaker: is a tone in which the way the poem sounds.
Example: If the poetry is sad then the speaker will use a sorrow tone.
Explanation: Speaker is important because without out feeling then poetry wouldnt be poetry.

Stanza, Couplet, Symbol

Stanza: a group of lines
Example: You always write in stanzas.
Explanation: Stanza's are important by helping us stay organize when we write.

Couplet: two lines that rhyme
Example: you use couplets when using sentences that ryhme
Explanation: A couplet is important because thats how you make music (rap) or poetry.

Symbol: is an idea that has a meaning
Example: A smile is a symbol for happiness.
Explanation: Symbol is important because itm has a meaning to what is going on.
